Golf has been played at Hollinwell for over 100 years. Originally players would carry their clubs, but as with all courses, trollies, electric trollies and buggies have gradually become features of the modern game. The course was not designed with buggies in mind. There are areas of the course where the topography, and parts of the year when the weather place unavoidable limitations on their use.
Our key responsibilities are:
The full details are contained within the Club's buggy policy, which is available upon request. While we appreciate this may produce occasional disappointment, all users must comply with restrictions.
When restrictions are necessary, these will be determined by this policy and set by the club management on a daily basis. The club website and the professional and his staff will advise members and visitors accordingly.
As explained in the policy, the restrictions may be summarised as:
Restrictions varying with weather conditions:
1. Open to buggies with no additional restrictions
2. Golfers with medical certification only; full course with some restricted wet areas.
3. Golfers with medical certification; holes 1-5 only
4. Closed to buggies
Permanent restrictions:
You must follow the required direction of travel, e.g. from the 11th green to 12th tee.
Visitors are invited to enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the course from the clubhouse, bar snacks and meals are available in the Bars and Lounges while formal dining is available upstairs. Please note that unfortunately there's no disabled access to the upper dining room at the moment but meals and drinks can be taken downstairs.
The course takes players away from the clubhouse after the first 9 holes so players should stock up on refreshments from the Pro's Shop before play or later from the Hollinwell Halt by the 9th tee. Please check if the Halt is open to avoid disappointment.
On the way round be sure to sample the fresh spring water from the famous Holy Well, located by the yellow tee on the 8th hole.
Toilet facilities are also available at the Hollinwell Halt, players will require an access code from the Pro's Shop.
In an emergency, the code to access the defibrillator cabinet is C159x
